‘So You Think You Can Dance’ front-runner Jensen Arnold was more vulnerable than ever during this duet [WATCH]

Jensen Arnold has been a machine all season on “So You Think You Can Dance,” adapting her Latin ballroom technique to every style imaginable, but letting her guard down on stage was more of a challenge. “This dance is 100% dependent on Jensen being vulnerable,” said choreographer Mandy Moore about the routine she was preparing for Arnold and all-star Robert Roldan. “I don’t go to that place a whole lot,” Arnold admitted, but you wouldn’t know it from the finished product. Watch their dance above.

The judges didn’t think she had any difficulty tapping into her softer side. “I just fell in love with that piece,” said Mary Murphy, who added that “the real strength is in your vulnerability, and that’s what you delivered just now.” Nigel Lythgoe “couldn’t help falling in love” with Arnold’s performance. Vanessa Hudgens echoed those sentiments, pointing out that vulnerability “makes you a fuller person, therefore a fuller artist.” Even host Cat Deeley thought it was “gorgeous” and told Arnold, “That was one glorious moment in time that you must never forget.”

So where does that leave Arnold going into next week’s “SYTYCD” season finale? Leading into Monday night’s Top 4 show Arnold was the front-runner to win the season with leading odds of 14/5, according to the combined predictions of Gold Derby’s users. Do you think she’s still the leader of the pack? For what it’s worth she has already outdone her big sister, who competed on the show in season nine but only made it as far as the Top 8. Jensen also tried out before, in season 14, but the judges didn’t think she was ready for the live shows.

What a difference a year makes. Vote in our poll below to let us know if you think Arnold deserves to win season 15 of “SYTYCD,” and watch our Emmy interview with choreographer Mandy Moore right under that.
